About the BTFD

The Bluffton Township Fire District protects approximately 250 square miles of the South Carolina lowcountry.  Situated between, Savannah, GA and Hilton Head Island, SC, Bluffton is growing at an amazing rate.  With that growth came the evolution of the BTFD.

Incorporated in 1978, Bluffton had 3 combination firehouses and minimal staffing.  Today, the Bluffton Township Fire District employs over 100 line, staff and support personnel who are assigned to 6 firehouses housing 6 Engine Companies, 1 Truck Company and 1 Shift Commander as well as the Maintenance, Training, Operations and Adminstrative Divisions.

The men and women of the BTFD provide the residents, businesses and visitors of Bluffton with the highest level of fire, rescue and medical services and continue to evolve to meet the dynamic needs it’s rapid growth demands.

Hey Robert,

If you go to http://www.blufftonfd.com there will be an application there. I do not know if we are taking apps right now or if they’ll take and hold it until our next hiring process. Thanks for checking out the site and good luck!
